Canada’s Enabling Accessibility Fund (EAF) is inviting young Canadians to get involved in creating more accessible spaces through its Youth Innovation Component. This initiative gives youth between 15 and 30 years old the opportunity to become Youth Accessibility Leaders and create real change in their communities.
Apply Now to develop valuable skills, gain key experience, and make a difference in your community.
What Is It?
Launched in 2017, this stream of the EAF focuses on youth leadership. As a Youth Accessibility Leader, participants identify accessibility barriers in community spaces and workplaces. They work with local non-profits or small businesses to develop project proposals and encourage organizations to apply for funding to address those barriers. These projects can take up to 12 months to complete. Youth leaders also promote accessibility awareness within their communities and networks.
Why Become a Youth Accessibility Leader?
This opportunity helps youth develop leadership, communication, and planning skills. It’s also a meaningful way to contribute to a more inclusive society. Youth gain hands-on experience writing proposals, working with partners, and managing small projects, while building a strong volunteer portfolio and network.
The program has already supported hundreds of youth and funded numerous initiatives that make public and private spaces more accessible.
How to Apply
